What is new for 2026
The Christmas Lights Hunt is now the Christmas edition of Race Across the World: The Experience in London's West End, the official live game of the hit BBC show. Bookings are open now, and from 12 November the route is Christmas-focused: the same puzzle-led race through Soho, Covent Garden and Mayfair, threaded through the West End's Christmas lights.
Tickets are sold on the Race Across the World site.
Race the West End this Christmas
A festive West End route
From 12 November your race weaves through the West End's Christmas lights: Regent Street, Carnaby, Covent Garden, Mayfair and the streets in between, with three checkpoints and surprises on the way.
Race as a team
Teams of 2 to 8 race for 2 to 3 hours over about 5 km, choosing their own route, solving physical puzzles and managing an in-game budget. Perfect for friends, families and work Christmas parties.
The official live experience
All the competition, discovery and suspense of the TV show, made by CityDays under licence. Three legs, a coveted guest book to sign and a private leaderboard for your group.
How it works
- Book your team on the Race Across the World site and pick a date and start time. From 12 November every race on the West End route is the Christmas edition.
- Race three legs through the West End, reaching checkpoints where physical puzzles and surprises await.
- Budget, spend and strategise: your choices change your route, your score and your final time.
- Pause when you like at the food and drink stops on the way, all optional. No prior knowledge of London is needed and hints keep it fun for everyone.

- It is a race rather than a story trail: three legs with checkpoints, physical puzzles and an in-game budget, played in teams of 2 to 8. You still start in the West End and still finish among the Christmas lights.
